My entry way into the discovery of perhaps my favorite socialite was her magnum opus Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. The Villa itself is just a magnificent self portrait of Béatrice's creative style. Béatrice was a French Socialite, Art Collector, and a member of the french branch of the Rothschild Banking Industry. As previously mentioned Villa Île-de-France at Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, now known as the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is by far her most notable work. At her death she beqeauthed the villa , and over 5,000 works of art to the Académie des Beaux-Arts of the Institut de France.
She married Maurice Ephrussi 6 June 1883 in Paris, at the Synagogue on Rue de la Victorie. Maurice her husband was a Ashkenazi Jew held from a Banking Dynasty whos progenitor Charles Joachim Ephrussi (1792–1864), built a grain-trading fortune in Odessa. Circa 1860 the family was the world's largest exporter of wheat.
