Let us come before the Lord and pray for the grace to resist wrath and anger.
Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have allowed our anger to control our actions and words.
Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have harbored resentment and bitterness in our hearts, and refused to forgive those who have wronged us.
Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have spoken hastily and without thinking, and hurt others with our words.
Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have taken revenge and sought to harm those who have wronged us, rather than seeking reconciliation.
Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have held onto grudges and refused to let go of past hurts, causing our anger to fester and grow.
Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have been impatient and intolerant of others, and failed to extend grace and understanding.
Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have forgotten your mercy towards us and failed to extend that same mercy to others.
May we seek to imitate the patience and forbearance of Christ, who endured suffering and injustice without lashing out in anger, and who prayed for his enemies even as he hung on the cross.
