Let us come before the Lord and pray for the grace to resist sloth and the temptation to idleness.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have allowed laziness and apathy to overcome us, and failed to use our time and talents to serve you and others.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have neglected our responsibilities and duties, and failed to fulfill our commitments to you and to others.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have been complacent and indifferent to the needs and suffering of those around us.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have failed to cultivate our own spiritual growth and development, and allowed ourselves to become stagnant in our faith.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have made excuses for our lack of action, and failed to take the initiative to make a positive difference in the world.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have failed to recognize the value and dignity of work, and neglected to use our gifts and talents to glorify you.

May we seek to imitate the diligence and dedication of Christ, who tirelessly served the needs of others and who showed us that true rest comes from finding our rest in you.
