Let us come before the Lord and pray for the grace to resist greed and the love of money.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have allowed the desire for wealth and material possessions to consume our thoughts and actions.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have pursued financial gain at the expense of others, and failed to consider the needs and well-being of our neighbors.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have hoarded resources and possessions, and failed to share our abundance with those in need.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have used money and possessions as a source of status and power, and failed to recognize the inherent dignity and worth of all people.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have neglected our own spiritual and emotional needs, and sought to fill the void with material possessions.

Lord, have mercy on us for the times we have failed to trust in your provision and care for us, and sought to control our own fate through wealth and possessions.

May we seek to imitate the generosity and selflessness of Christ, who gave up everything for our sake, and who taught us to love and care for our neighbors as ourselves.

Amen.
